Note that I didn't even have to say what party's city convention- the DFL has so become the default party in Minneapolis that nobody even bothers much with the other parties or remnants thereof.  It says something that there were probably more Greens at the DFL's convention than the Green Party's convention, attempting to meddle with little success.

MSNBC is reporting that five Congressional Representatives have been arrested outside the Sudanese Embassy after heading a Darfur protest. Those arrested were: Donna Edwards (D-MD), James McGovern (D-MA), Lynn Woolsey (D-CA), Keith Ellison (D-MN) and John Lewis (D-GA). They were bound with zip-tie handcuffs and driven away in a large white van.

I'd like to start out by telling you my perception of the Minneapolis public schools based on my own experiences spanning the last forty some years.  As a child and teenager, I knew what schools were deemed “good” or “bad.”  It had nothing to do with education but rather skin color.  Back then people seemed to be far less concerned about political correctness.
