I have seen the rotation of many businesses come and go on the corner of 34th and Nicollet Avenue South in Minneapolis over the past few years. Most have closed their doors within a year.
In the Heart of the Beast Puppet Theater has been putting on May Parade and Celebration for over thirty years. This year In the Heart of Beast needs the people of Minneapolis to help this long time community organization put on this year’s May events. They need people that are willing to be in the parade and in the ceremony. Unlike other years this year they need your financial assistance. In the Heart of the Beast has to pay the Minneapolis Park Board for rental of Powderhorn Park which cost a lot of money. The real rub is that this year In the Heart of the Beast Puppet Theater has not received enough monetary contributions to be able to continue the May Traditional Events.

Communities United Against Police Brutality call to action against Brooklyn Park Police office Greg Brustad drew 40 people to call attention to the fact that officer Brustad has been named in 27 counts of Police Brutality. These complaints were filed with the Minnesota Post Board the State agency tasked with licensing Peace officers. Complaints of misconduct against Sgt. Brustad were also filed with the FBI and the city of Brooklyn Park.
